Jackie discovered Bikram yoga at Reston in fall 2006 and fled the real world in spring 2007 to attend teacher training in Hawaii. As yoga means unity, so being a Bikram instructor is the perfect union of the seemingly disparate experiences that make up Jackie’s life. Using her experience as a former Army sergeant, long-time physical fitness enthusiast, mother of two beautiful spirited girls and English lit major wannabe, she strives to teach a disciplined and physically demanding class tempered with a mom’s kindness and necessary sense of humor, with a small measure of poetry mixed in. Jackie’s work took her to New Delhi, India in 2011 to the summer of 2013 and then to Bangkok, Thailand where she, her daughters, and husband Mark (also a Bikram teacher) live now. Jackie misses her Bikram Yoga Reston home and practices and teaches every chance she gets when the family comes back for visits.
