New studio jitters are normal. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you walk in.

Step 01

Arrive early

Get there 10 to 15 minutes before class to check in, sign your waiver if needed.

Step 02

Meet your instructor

Let them know it's your first time. They'll help you find a good spot and offer tips before class begins.

Step 03

Follow along

In every class, follow instructions. Please do not modify postures unless discussed with instructor. If you need to skip a pose, you can sit and take a break.

Step 04

Hydrate and reflect

Once class is done, relax in savasana for a couple minutes, walk out of the yoga room quietly and slowly, hydrate, and come back the next day!

Common questions

FAQ for first-timers

I'm not flexible. Can I still do this?

Yes. Flexibility is a result of consistent practice, not a requirement to start. With consistent practice your flexibility will improve.

What if I don't know any of the poses?

You don't need to know anything going in. Instructors guide the class through each posture step by step, and the sequence repeats every class, so it gets more familiar each time.

Is the heat too much for a beginner?

The room is heated to 105°F with 40% humidity. It's intense at first, but the heat is part of what makes the practice therapeutic. You can always sit down if you need a break.

Do I need to reserve a spot before class?

Yes. All classes require pre-booking through our schedule. First-timers should also register and sign our waiver before their first visit.

What should I wear?

Light, moisture-wicking clothing works best. Avoid heavy fabrics or anything you wouldn't want to get soaked with sweat.
